Management- Finance Internship MB Petroleum Services
Question: Describe about the Management- Finance Internship for MB Petroleum Services. Answer: Week 2 As I have done my internship in MBPS from MB Petroleum Services in Oman, which holds the position of multinational corporation. This company provides high quality drilling in cheap price. In the second week, I have learned the importance of collaboration while working within an organisation. Collaboration engages several individuals and groups of an organisation to perform the assigned tasks together in order to attain the fixed and common objectives of the company within short period. I have learned in my management internship the process of brainstorming collaboration, which allows my other team members to share their own knowledge and skill with me for achieving a common goal, set by MB Petroleum Services. Even the leaders and trainers of the internship program inspire and motivate me for gaining the appropriate work value. I have learned petty cash process, AP process and AR process, which will help me in future while working with other organisation. Petty cash process help to solve the disbursements while issuing the cash back in order to fund some amount. AP process can be used to pay the bill of the company and AR process helps to generate a sample path. The process of collaboration actually provides the team members of existing group equal opportunities for communicating and participating their ideas. However, there were some challenges to adopt the collaboration process as it promotes an individual to articulate, check clarity and think of self-competencies and clearly, reveals own weaknesses and strengths. With the collaboration, I can solve any kind of management problems in my future company with my knowledge and experience from the internship programme. Collaborates gives me a detailed knowledge of team collaboration and learning completely new things from sharing different ideas with my team member. Collaboration also enhances my skills of being a potential employee of an organisation for operating, negotiating and working together for performance. Week 3 In the third week of my internship within MB Petroleum Services of Oman, I have learned the process and tactics to meet the deadlines of assigned projects and set targets within fixed deadlines. The standard of performances influence and motivate employees in order to manage their time in efficient manner with establishing attainable goals and objectives. At this week, I have understood in detailed manner the exact importance of establishing attainable targets within deadlines. If an individual can meet the deadlines within a proper time during my internship program within the concerned company, then my leaders used to appreciate it as it promotes a good professionalism. My leaders and training managers effectively help me to understand the necessity of creating and meeting deadlines for attaining the goals of future. This lesson also promotes the important ways to reach my personal goals also. In this week, I have learned cross function SCM, HR, TSD and operation and all these will help me to solve the financial problem in my future company. I also gain knowledge on treasury and fixed asset process that determine and decides base unit of asset. The internship program helps me for developing my personal and professional skills for further development. During this week, the leaders provided me a task and asked me to finish it within a set deadline with a proper following of the targets. I have created some potential steps to finish my assigned tasks within the deadline. However, I was able to complete the assigned tasks by the leaders within the provided deadline after following some effective strategies. During my internship, I have created realistic and attainable deadlines for the completion of the tasks in order to resolve any kind of potential challenges with following strategic steps and methods. My leader also appreciates my skill of finishing tasks within deadlines and I got higher grade. Week 4 Finance management internship helps the interns to understand various skills and knowledge in order to handle the business operations of an organisation. In the fourth week, I have learned the importance of communication and the process of developing it. The class coordinator and the teaching staff of my internship programme were no much cooperative and always motivate me to share my knowledge and ideas with the other students in the class in order to become an independent learner. However, sharing my own experience and knowledge actually enhance my own creativity, which will contribute a lot in my future company, where I will be working. In this week, I have learned general ledger process, MIS and reporting process. The example of ledger suggests record of chronological accounting and MIS process helps to solve managerial problems such as monitoring, decision making and controlling. Internship has been proved to be an ideal way for learning and observing the workplace and how an organisation use effective communication in order to perform the fundamental business operations and activities such as organising, controlling, leading and planning. My internship program also helps me to discover important new skills of modern technology, explore my career path with sharing a proper networking channel with the professionals of MB Petroleum Services of Oman. The leader of my internship program always asked me to practise the small talks in order to reduce the barriers of effective communication. Small talk is the best, quickest and easiest way to enhance own communication skills. I spoke with my colleagues from the concerned organisation in order to know their experiences an always tried to get involved with every events of the company as it gives a vast view about the business operation of the company. Even with proper communication style and process, I interacted with my colleagues, the other students of the internship program and my leaders and class coordinators.
